Part of the Introduction is as follows: I had blown it. I knew it as soon as I let the ball go. Jerry Hill was heading down the middle and he had plenty of room. Instead of rearing back and throwing a bullet, I tried to steer the ball. It was soft and it floated, and Jim Hudson of the Jets came over and made an easy interception. Someone tackled him and then the gun went off ending the half. I felt sick. I ran for the locker room. I wanted to crawl under something and hide. Then Bobby Boyd, the left cornerback for the Colts came running toward me and he was yelling at the top of his lungs, Didnt you see him, Earl? Did you see him? See Who? Orr! Jimmy Orr! He was wide open in the end zone! I had really blown it. The uper bowl was supposed to be a piece of cake for us. A couple of guys had picked us to win by a score of 47-0 and the Las Vegas bookies had us down as eighteen point favorites. Thats just part of the introduction, just to give you an idea of what the book is like.
