There are many different types of postcards. Vintage Postcards would I supposed depend on how old they are and how old you are.
To me as a collector a Vintage Postcard would be one from the 1970s or earlier. However a postcard to me that is from the early 1900s
would be an antique postcard not a Vintage Postcard. Many people collect different types of postcards. The Vintage Postcard can vary depending
on the era. If the vintage postcard is from the 1940s to the 1950s it is probably a linen type postcard, and some collectors will only
collect vintage linen postcards. Some collectors are more interested in the real photo type vintage postcard. That type of postcard
will have on it an actual photo shot of the subject. Other interesting vintage postcards are the Fancy Type postcards. These cards were
like raised at points and many of these were holiday theme cards, such as Easter, Christmas, Halloween, and so on.
Another interesting type of vintage postcard was the Black Americana postcard, many people collected them. When purchasing a vintage postcard
some collectors like used cards with stories and dates and addresses as well as stamps. Other collectors prefer vintage postcards that are unused with no
writing and nice edges and nice corners and show no or little wear. The problem with some vintage postcards that were used was the postmark would bleed through
to the front and ruin the front of the card, others like that about the card, making it even more unique. Another unique part of vintage postcard collecting was
WWII, many cards were made during the war years, and many were of the funny variety, joking about being in the service.
Some dealers of vintage postcards whether it be at a shop or a flea market will have their cards filed in one of two ways. If they have many cards of a certain area,
they will break them down that way, first by say, the State, then City or town. Others will separate them by type. They could have them broken down by date or decade, linen, real
photo type vintage postcards and fancies, WWII, car postcards and more. They may have them in shoe boxes, big file boxes or even in binders. If you buy a good card which
you want to protect ask the dealer if he or she has any card protectors, they vary in thickness and type for you to choose from. Feel free to browse our different categories of

A vintage postcard featuring the Breakers at Long Beach California. The postcards a color type card with a catalog number of D 34 on the back lower left corner, and it has Long Beach California On the Road of a thousand wonders on the back. The postcard shows the waves on the beach and looks like a pier and building at the end of the pier in the background. The postcard is unused and has no dates on it but appears to be from the 1910s or so. The card is by the Newman Post Card Co Los Angeles and San Francisco and where the stamp goes it has 2 cents for foreign postage.
This vintage postcard is in Excellent Condition with no rips, and no creases. There is some cornerwear and alittle edgewear and nice color. Where the stamp goes on the back someone wrote 3/29/12 MHD. Please see the scan for overall condition.

A vintage state view postcard featuring Van Cleve Park in Dayton Ohio. The postcards a color type card with a catalog number of 10 on the back left side. The postcard shows the park and some type of building in the park and a person standing on a sidewalk. The postcard is unused and has no dates on it but appears to be from the 1910s or so. The postcards by the J B Meiler & Son Dayton Ohio with Made in Germany on the back left edge and where the stamp goes it has One Cent Stamp for United States, Canada & Mexico Two Cent Stamp for All Other Countries.
This vintage postcard is in Fair Condition with no writing and no creases. There is some corner wear and the upper left corner is torn away. There is also some moisture type damage on the upper left and right side with some discoloration. Please see the scan for overall condition.

A vintage State view postcard featuring the New Island Wanderer Boat Line Boat 1000 Islands Alexandria Bay New York. The postcard is a color type card with a catalog number of 127554 on the back upper edge, and it has list of locations you will see during your tour on the boat. This vintage postcard shows the boat on the water with passengers and on the front it has New Island Wanderer I and II. Wards Independent Boat Line. Alexandria Bay 1000 Islands NY. A real Trip using Elevated Chairs. On the bottom edge of the front of the car is has the boats schedule for tours. The vintage postcard is unused and has no dates on it but appears to be from the 1910s or so. The card is by Tichnor Quality Views and has Pub by Hallam & Vesty Alexandria Bay NY on the back left edge and where the stamp goes it has Domestic One Cent Foreign Two Cents.

A 1940s vintage postcard featuring a Cannon Crossing the River on a raft by some Army personnel at Ft Benning Ga. The card is a Real Photo type card with River Crossing Ft Benning Ga on the front lower right corner and Correspondence Address Post Card on the back. This vintage postcard shows the river, soldiers, raft and cannon. The card is unused and has no dates on it but appears to be from the 1940s or so because there is another card on this site with the same style and the cars on that one are from the 1940s possibly from the WWII era.
The postcard is in excellent Condition with no rips, no writing and no creases. There is some wear on the cards lower right corner where that part is missing the front portion but the backing is still there. Please see the scan for overall condition.
