RV Trip To Yellowstone Day 2
National Museum USAF Wright Patterson AFB Dayton Ohio
Day two of the trip started out with eggs and ham and toast breakfast, and showers and then cleaning up the rv and packing up, unhooking and leaving the campground. We then drove to WPAFB or Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio to see the National Museum of Aviation of the Air Force. When we got there it was totally pouring rain a massive downpour, so we looked at each other and decided what a good time to sit down in the rv and have our lunch. We did sandwiches and chips and milk, and hung out until the rain stopped, about 40 mins or so. Oh before I forget we say alot of Military cargo aircraft in the air, and the truckers on the cb radio were talking about them and the Air show that is in the area later this summer, by the time I'm typing this it might have already passed.
We spent almost 5 hours here, they had many displays and aircraft and nice informational on all the displays. The best part was we got to go on a few of the planes used by the Presidents. They had a few Air Force Ones there and we got to walk through them, but you had to check in for that and show your drivers license and other security stuff, plus get a briefing, because that part of the tour was actually on the Base itself and security was tight.
We left there around 5:30 and hit the Indiana State line at 6:17, then we got to the S & H Campground at Mt Comfort Indiana at 8:00 pm. It was a long day but a fun one.
