Our Big Trip out West to Yellowstone
(There will be pictures with captions on the following pages)
Welcome to cocomilkcollectibles website. This is the area of our website we made to keep our friends informed about our lives. Not really a blog, more of a journal from our vacation.
We were too exhausted, busy or on the road to do this during the vacation. Sometimes we didn't have internet access anyways, so I'll be doing alot of this from memory and the paper journal I kept during the trip. We took over 1000 digital pictures and I forget exactly how many rolls of film.
Quick Summary of our trip
So to start this off, our journey began Wednesday June 27, 2007. It continued until we got back home on Thursday night July 19, 2007 at 11:31 PM. We covered 6864 miles, and 19 states in that time, it was very exhausting, but fun. We saw many great sights, met many nice people and had good quality family time together. You see our RV recreational vehicle is a 29' Shasta Class C. It is 8 1/2 feet wide, 29 feet long and 11 1/2 feet high. It weighs when full almost 13,000 pounds with tanks full and food and clothes and other items. So we spent alot of time in close quarters. And we didn't kill each other. It was 5 people total, myself, my husband, Oldest daughter (25 y/o)that we picked up in Denver, she flew out on July 10, Son (7 y/o) and little daughter (3 y/o had her birthday right after we got back).
Preparations for the trip
The few weeks leading up to the trip were alot of work, shopping, making lists of what we'd need without packing too much. Knowing what we could buy along the way, so that we didn't overpack. The planning of a few different routes because of potential weather problems. Getting camping books from AAA, using an RV Camping software program looking for campsites with ammenties, prices etc. Then using Gas Buddy to find the cheaper gas stations in certain areas. Printing Walmart locations, Flying J's and other truck stops, and more!
