I know that there are some people that collect car brochures. Some people collect in different ways. We have a fairly good selection of vintage and new car brochures. We went to the Carlisle Pennsylvania car show and found some interesting Car Memorabilia. One thing we did buy was a nice lot of Old Vintage 1960s Oldsmobile Car Brochures and other Oldsmobile Vintage Literature. Continue reading →

Today I’ll be posting on the blog about kids and what they collect and why they collect. It will be a perspective on what is great about collecting and maybe not so great. What is the easy part of collecting and what is the hard part. The difference will be, I will be interviewing my 11 year old son for this post. Continue reading →
There are so many things that were collectible back in the 1940′s and 1950′s and a lot of it was advertising. There weren’t as many venues to advertise as there are now a days, the internet sure has changed a lot of advertising. My husband has gotten the kids into collecting. My son who is 11 likes to collect everything and I do mean just about everything. When they go to sporting events, he runs around after the game and finds programs, give away items, and anything else he thinks might be collectible. My daughter who is 6 gets stuff not because she’s into collecting, but because her brother got stuff, lol. My husband has a great way for the kids to get sport team collectibles for next to nothing and free shipping, and the kids love it. Continue reading →

There aren’t as many National Parks in our area, there are many out west however. Some of the State Parks out west have badge or patches as well the kids can get. The kids have a great collection of National Parks Jr Ranger Badges and Patches collectibles. The first thing the kids ask when we pull into a National Park is, “When are we going to the Welcome Center to get our Jr Ranger Books”. Continue reading →

Vintage board games are another great collectible. When cocomilk was selling or auctioning collectibles we would occasionally put vintage board games on the site, some did well, some not so good. When we found out some would auction well we got a little goofy hitting goodwill stores, Salvation Army stores, second hand stores, flea markets and garage sales buying them up. We found especially at garage sales we could buy them dirt cheap, estate sales we found they were a little bit more expensive. Continue reading →
